Refivest Blog started in October 2013 accidentally. After attending a Real Estate Capital Markets Conference hosted by New York University at the Pierre Hotel in Manhattan, the Taj Group Hotel two important things happened: (1) I wrote a page summary about the event and (2) there was a question that was asked by a moderator to all panelists, “What keeps you up at night?” After weeks of searching I found my answers. One of them is associated strictly to real estate and business:” An obsession to always do my best, give a 150% effort, always exceed clients’ expectations, worry about what I can control and let what’s outside of my control take care of itself.” Interestingly, these two things were the catalyst to starting this blog.

Why Refivest then?  Expository and technical writing have always been an area for me to exercise my brain.  The aim at ReFiVest.Com is to share my thoughts and ideas about business, banking, real estate finance and investment topics.  Some of the writing pieces will come from other experts in the industry – sharing their sentiments about a fascinating and incomparable field. After reading some of the posts on this blog, if you would like to contribute and share your insights, please use the contact page to inquire further.

“Real estate is not mainly about Location, Location, Location. Truthfully, when you look at specific market conditions, the type of asset class, where you are in a cycle, and every trend that encompasses a real estate transaction, I say real estate is about Location, Timing, Contract Terms”Ibsen Alexandre

” I attribute my success to access to opportunity. The status quo is not a sustainable situation for a businesses. It is in our interest as entrepreneurs to provide greater access to opportunity.”Don Peebles

“Look at market fluctuations as your friend rather than your enemy; profit from folly rather than participate in it.”Warren Buffett

“I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying. Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships. Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.”–  Michael Jordan
